2010 hhr lt

Just bought my teen daughter a 2010 HHR LT with 68 000 miles. Was surprised to see it didnt have ON Star , the menu and thinds are all on the steering wheel and it seems to have a Sirrius radio attachment that is plugged in . How much does it cost approx to upgrade to On star and blue tooth so she can use her I phone hands free etc as I want her to be safe

If your daughter is under the age of 18 then it looks like it is illegal for her to even use a phone via any type of hands free device.

Text Messaging Law Effective January 1 2009 Cellular Phone Laws Effective July 1 2008

Welcome to the site

I thought that on star was standard on the 2010 models so I'm guessing you have a former rental car.

On star can be added to any car these days with the install of a kit. Here is a link. OnStar announces a blue button for any car, Best Buy handling the installs

No electronics wizard here, but I thought the Bluetooth was thru the stereo.
I know mine says Bluetooth on the stereo face about 20 seconds after startup. I use my Bluetooth with the phone and my Onstar has been inactive since the trial period was over 3 years ago.

As Lucky said above. No Onstar, it must be a formal rental car.

Just curious. Does the remote start work ? Most rental cars had that feature disabled.

My 2010 LT was a rental and it came with OnStar. When I was at my dealer having the recall done I saw a display for the add-on OnStar. My wife wants it in her 09 LS so I asked about it. It its about $200.00 installed. It has every thing except the vehicle monitering. I hope this helps.

If all you are looking for is Bluetooth connectivity to her phone, and you don't want to swap the factory radio out for a new sound system with Bluetooth, then just buy an aftermarket Bluetooth speaker. Generally clips to the visor. I had a Jabra purchase from Costco for about $50.00. OnStar would be overkill simply for Bluetooth

If you have OnStar, why would you need to connect your phone to it. Just use the built in cell phone.
