We'll see that in a future at Barrett-Jackson Auction

Sad though the market has slipped on the manuals to the poin I think they are only 6% of the entire market.
That, power windows, TV remotes and luggage with wheels are symptomatic of "life quality improvements" that have turned Americans into an epidemic of jelly-bellies.

We didn't have this stuff 30-40 years ago and people were lighter.

Collectible? Only time will tell on that one... IMO, the rare HHRs will really only be worth as much as the Buick Reatta, or the last rear drive Chevy with a full frame... (Caprice/Impala)

Only time will tell though. I personally think a Solstice coupe on the other hand.....

I just rented a 2010 in Chicago and wasn't impressed by it. It had 750 miles on it when I picked it up and I thought there was something wrong with it when I drove it away. It drives much harder than my 2006, the steering was stiff and the ride was hard. My 06 has lowered springs which stiffened the ride up a bit and its not as harsh as this rental was. I did discover it had traction control, and it seemed to make a little bit of an improvement when I turned it off. A funny point is when I kept reaching down in the middle for the window switches
Maybe it just needs to be loosened up from usage?

Collectable and valuable are two different things.

I remember people back in 1988 buying loaded Fiero GT's because they were going to get rich.

Today you can buy a lowe mileage 88 GT for $8K-12K.

The Panel and half panel will be rear but I agree we will have to see if any demand ever materializes. As of now there is no demad and that is why they are rare. 2 seater sport vehicles are a limited market and when it is not a sports car it is even more limite.

The Suberbirds were a car with no demad too and people thought thye were ugly but it was one of the few that turn the deamd around. Who knows 40 years from now it may be valueable about the time were too old to drive.

On the other had I expect the Solstice Coupe to be a winner out of the gate. It is popular and this edition will only be sold for one year and at only 1100 units.

While 1100 units is still a lot of cars I expect the value of the GXP top do like the Buick GNX in the 80's.

The bottom line I would recomend we all just drive our HHR's and enjoy the,. Why leave them for someone else to drive when we are dead....That is if they can get gas.

I've always agreed with that.... Never understood why people don't use and enjoy their cars....because then someone else will.

I just went to a car show today that was more Pebble Beach vs Dairy Queen.

I saw cars there today that were just mind blowing. There was a large group of Ferarris there and many with stone chip. It wa nice to see them driven. There was a girl from Japan though that was leaning on the cars including a Ferarri 250 Lusso. I was waiting for WWIII to start over her actions. She also sat on the corner of some other cars that I thought there would be some issues over.

They did have the Bugatti Veryon roped off.

FWIW I understand the last of the SS models are due to be manufactured this month (Sep09), the run will be somthing like 400 vehicles and then it's all over.
