2011 chevy hhr.

So I posted earlier about my daughters car. I'm now looking in to it and it will be a while until I get what is needed.

With that being said, I am still looking at fixing the odometer for her car.

Is there anyone here that can fix the display, lower readout for odometer?

I swapped it and it's a hassle to get it programed to the vehicles Vin and update the miles to reflect actual mileage at the dealership. They are scared the car won't start afterwards. Which makes no sense when they are programming the tec not bcm or ecm. So while I'm working on obtaining the software and hardware to do it myself, I'm looking at other avenues.

Also, if anyone has a scanner that can do it and will loan it out, please let me know. I can use my shipping discount to receive and send it back full tracking and at a lower rate.

The woman who was working at my local dealership, said the odometer is a simple job to Vin match and update the odometer, have you tried contacting a different dealership?

Some independent shops have the computer necessary. The dealer service advisor you are talking to is an idiot (not unusual, they are salesmen). They think the HHR is the same as a C-10. The ONLY thing they need to do is match the VIN, the mileage will update itself. The instructions are in the Tech2 or MDI. Tell them to call Techline, ask to talk to the service manager, ask to talk to the general manager, ask to talk to the owner, talk to a different advisor, lurk around the shop and ask the oldest mechanic.
There has to be other GM dealers you could call. Cadillac, Buick, GMC.
You might try contacting the GM regional rep. Call the customer support number in the Owner Manual.

What you would need:
a computer
a OBD2 interface
a subscription to Techline (formerly TIS2WEB)
Tech2Win software.
