shiftplus+
i got b&m shiftplus from amazon...i think i seen some others for cobalts , on other sites...i have not installed yet , but have read where others were using the same b&m kit...it is only 2 wires to connect to to install it....some of our supporting vendors may have a kit....i have also seen torque converters...there is stuff available , it just takes a little searching.

Thanks CD,
How do you like the B&M kit? Does it 'delay' the shifts, and/or make them 'harder'? When I drove a Cobalt w/ auto, there didn't seem to be any compression braking at all? I take it that it is a purely electronic 're-programmer', and ya don't even have to go into the tranny?
Any farther opinions would surely be welcomed...
Oops, I just reread yer post and noticed that ya haven't installed it yet. Please keep me posted when ya do...

Why not just go with the 2.2/5 speed? Their performance numbers are almost identical with the 2.4/auto.
2.4/Auto
0-60=8.37
1/4=16.35
1/4 MPH=85.2
2.2/5 Speed
0-60=8.51
1/4=16.63
1/4 MPH=84.95
These number are for the 06 when the 2.2 had a few less HP and the 2.4 had the 3.91 final ratio. I bet they are even closer now.

solman,
I didn't realize that the specs were so close...
With that in mind, I guess I'll just stick with the stick and 2.2...
I really prefer a stick anyway.
Thanks for the info...
