I completely understand what you are saying. But I think if this was done right it would be cool. I base this opinion on extensive scientific research ........I squint my eyes and guess.

I really think this concept got a bum wrap, rightfully due to the crappy design. Any major change you can do to you car in 30 minutes may have some shortcomings.

If I do this it will involve 2 things; 1. I will get another junk HHR body (I am mister mule you know) and fab this up perfectly before I proceed. If it has the correct angles and proportions and it looks great, I'll pull a mold off them. These pieces will be a permanent addition to the car.
2. Finish the V8 Panel first.

lasater- I will agree Sir, done 'right' this could be sharp.. not as they are currently. Overpriced & like a wart sticking out.

I've personally always liked the idea of recessed & frenched in '59 Caddy tail lights.

The 59 Caddy lights look good but are a little too long for the HHR. How about the 64 Impala tail lights.

Cliff, that kicka$$ V8 HHR of yours needs to be smooooth!

Shave the stock "warts" like I did and go with something more era specific to the 47-53s from which our HHRs got their inspiration...

The lights I've got in the bumper aren't what I have in mind for looks, just to be legal and functional until the rear restyle is finished.

LOKAR makes NICE oval LED tails:

That looks great. How much modification was necessary?

I was just looking at 64 Impala tail lights to put in mine because the angle is right. I'm going with the full red top and back up clear center bottom. How did you adapt them?
