Wind chill wont affect you sitting in a car, the wind isnt hitting your skin. Heat index will when the humid air is coming into the car.

Heat Index is what it FEELS like on your skin. 96 degrees with high humidity "feels" hotter than 96 degrees with NO humidity. I know, I just experienced it last week. I was in Vegas and then DC. 96 in Vegas (no humidity) was not nearly as hot as 96 in DC with HIGH humidity.

And the point of my earlier statement was that the A/C worked exceptionally well in the heat.
