Accident

On 8/5/2016 at about 4:35 PM, just getting out of stop and go traffic, this lady decided to cream right into Gregg's rear end. Visually the damage wasn't too bad, but upon closer inspection from the shop they found that her car went under Gregg, bending the bumper up, ruining the bumper cover, shoving the exhaust forward as well as downward, slightly tweaking the entire body of the car as well as damaging the hatch area where the spare sits. Damage estimate from the shop came to just over 2,800 dollars. Since I wen through her insurance and she was at fault it didn't cost me a cent. Although we were stop and go, they think she must have at least been going over 30 to cause that kind of damage. After 9 days in the shop and then an addition day to rework the exhaust, Gregg is back and is in full working order. I am grateful that neither I or the other driver were injured, and even more thankful that my son was not in the car. Needless to say, its take some time to adjust since as that was my first ever accident, and I find myself getting a little worried when I see cars approaching too fast, but now am realizing just how little most drivers out there understand about SAFE DRIVING DISTANCE, curiously more so those driving newer vehicles. I had some extra time on my hands and figured I would share my story, and the good news that Gregg is still sticking around!

Thank you, I am also glad that I was lucky enough to get hit by someone in a brand new car with full coverage too haha. I had the repair shop established and rental car all ready to go before even leaving the accident scene.

The TV says you don't even have to pay attention anymore, the car will stop itself. More Idiocracy, the dumbing down of America. Maybe she spent so much money on the car, insurance, etc, she was so poor she couldn't afford to pay... attention.

She actually tried to say at first that she "didnt even know what happened....The car just went" like some BS unintended acceleration ploy. I just looked at her, her car, my car, the one lane road she hit me dead straight on from behind and said "well Miss, what the PHUCK do you think happened?" LMFAO. She calmly got in her car and called her insurance while I did the same.

I was sitting stopped in stop & go traffic, the guy behind me in a RAM 3500 said his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas. Caused about $3500 to my HHR and another $2000 to the car in front of me.

Guess what; he was driving on a suspended. At least he was paying his insurance.

Glad it's all fixed up, and everyone is alright. Would have been a shame to loose it as well as yourself to the site here.

Having lost an HHR to another drivers decision NOT to wait the 3 &#%^&#&^$ seconds until I passed. I'm glad no one was hurt in your incident and that you got to keep yours!!

Glad things are fixed. We had my wife's09about a month when on her day off I "borrowed" it to go to work. I had stopped at a stop sign as did the van behind me. As I pulled away the van hit me, I guess I wasn't accelerating fast enough. They had to replace the rear bumper cover.
