Ads and pop ups

What's with all the ADs and pop ups? Is this our future on this site?

It is your computer or laptop. I never get pop-ups. You probably need to ad Ad Aware or some other such pop-up blocker. If you have one it isn't working.

AdBlockerPlus on Chrome. And make sure you click 'keep me signed in'.

Thanks, I'll check my pop up blocker. However, after I signed in no more pop ups. I'll just make sure I keep signed in from now on. I had cleared my browsing history and that clears pass words sometimes. All is well now.
thanx

Unfortunately, the pop up ads are a necessary evil if you will. They help generate revenue to keep the site running, and to pay the tab for prizes etc.

One benefit of membership is not having to deal with them if you're signed in.

No, but I'll take that one in Lake Havasu....the London Bridge. I basically had it under control a couple of minutes after I sent the original text. I normally never come on site without being signed in so I did not know what happens when you are not signed in. However, I had just cleared my brousing history and that also deletes passwords. It's all good.

That can be done without clearing the passwords or cookies that you want.

You might also look into using Open DNS. Not only can it be used to do web filtering (net nanny style) but it can block ads and known malware sites.
