Aftermarket Hood

Are there any hoods out yet for the HHR???

I was looking at the Airaid intake on SoCals website, and I couldn't help but notice how perfect and easy it would would be to use that intake for a Ram-Air type setup with a hood that has some type of scoop.

You need to look closer at SoCals website - "CGS Intake" But we know what you meant!

i am sure you can find a hood but i think you can find a scoop you like better and make the scoop functional when you alter and paint the scoop.

i like this scoop and it can be bought as a hood

Only hood I've seen out there is the spare one that Tom the Deerslayer has hanging on his garage wall...thanks to the deer. Sorry Tom...just couldn't help myself.

Seriously, I'm sure when they become more readibly available, you will see more information in the forum. HERE is a thread with some ideas, a link and some bantering about aftermarket hoods and cowls.
Leave it to Mike from SoCalHHR's

Well, we are looking at 2 different websites, because I don't see Airaid FOR SALE on his website. Moot point anyhow, I know you took the pic from the comparison, I thought you were referring to BUYING the Airaid from SoCal. My bad.

I think a shaker type scoop would look good on the HHR like the old 70`s Trans Ams had it would match the contour of the hood wide at back and narrows to a point in front!! can someone photo chop one on to see what it would look like??

Yes, it is a moot point, but that pic is on his site.

Anyway, my point is, that intake would be super easy to use with a scoop of some sort. It looks like it even has a seal on it around the top that goes to the hood.

lol Not enough coffee on my part. Like I said, I didn't read the post properly and now it is all very clear! haha! I like your idea, though. Now I know how lady fenrir feels when she is shopping for shoes, just when you thought she had made a choice, another option pops up!
