I'll have more to report later. I just got a text to bring it back to the shop.

Mine is also a 5-spd so the ebrake is always on. MOST remote starts use the parking lamps, but I have seen some use the headlamps as well. And if anyone has any friends that have access to a tech2, it is possible to change the drl to the parking lights. Just an FYI.

Hooking up parking lamps or headlights is on the installer. I haven't seen one system that turned on head lights via data.

The OE RS does turn the headlights on, at least on my old 2008 and in the U.S.. May have been DRL, I never cared enough to check.

Remember, the 2006 DRLs are the parking lights, and maybe other years in Canada. Several other quirks are inherent to 2006-2007 and Canadian models.

Hey all,

Went into the shop today. The installer forgot to hookup the ground to the autolamps. Even after, he had to put a relay in to keep the autolamps from coming on in dark conditions.

As it sits now, I engage the remote start, the headlights come on briefly, and then the HHR sits there with the parking lamps on while it warms up. I'm satisfied with this setup, because it doesn't shine my neighbors for more than a quick second.

I'm glad to here you got it fixed. You are a good man. These days it seems that most people could careless if they upset other people if it don't effect them.
