On my 07 the horn doesn't sound on the first push of the lock button, that just locks the doors. Second push of the button arms the system and the horn sounds.
Greybeard- That can easily be changed in the DIC settings. I set mine to only Beep my Caddy Horns on 2nd push. Cause sometimes I don't need to announce I'm locking my buggy.

If the panic button doesn't sound the horn, pushing twice won't either. (more than likely)

I'm guessing there is some compromised wiring under your dash. With the radio being disconnected I'm thinking the previous owner had more than a custom radio installed, something that included theft deterrent. When it came time to sell, he removed all that and just stuck the old radio in without reconnecting anything. Just a guess on my part, but likely what's going on.

Not saying it's the radio, but the dash wiring.

I'm wondering if the PO bypassed the BCM for the horn?
Could splice the 2 tan wires to do it.

I was actually tracing the plug from bcm up to the top of dash then it got dark. It looked like it headed toward drivers side. Looking for splices. I am going to remove cover under steering wheel and look there, and under dash. Thanks for diagram.

Before you go too far in dismantling the car, have you tested the actual horn ? (or did I miss you stating that you have)

What I mean is, does the horn sound when you push on the steering wheel horn button ?

I would look for the tan wires on one of the BCM connectors; one on the C1 and one one the C2. The one on C2 is the wire that the BCM control the relay with. If a pro installed an alarm system that's where it would be.

Maybe the PO did not read the Owner Manual and thought disabling the horn was the way to stop it from honking when they opened the door.
