The Alarm System 2007 LT
I was reading up on the new gadgets criminals have out now which apparently can read the codes of your push button FOB device.
Recommendation to avoid this is to use the internal lock on the door when leaving the car an dusing the FOB only when approaching it. Whatever the case, my question has to do with the internal lock that I have not used until the last few weeks.
I do have the thick manual that I downloaded a couple years ago an dnot very lear here.
If I hit the door lock when I open th edoor, I do hear the 3 dings, I shut the door and after a few seconds the doors all lock as stated in the book.
My question is does it also activate the alarm? There is no sound of the horn when this is done
thx

And as far as I know only the Cobalt and HHR do not arm with the switch. All other Chevys do.

Solman makes a very valid point. If they want your car, or just want in to your car, they are going to do it. We can only deter but can't really prevent. In a maximum of 60 seconds, virtually any car can be opened without a key and without breaking a window. If I'm stupid enough to leave something worth stealing out in view inside my locked car, I can only hope that they get in, get what they want and do as little damage as possible. If they want my car, I only hope that it leaves the area and is never recovered so I don't have to see it damaged and abused.

Agreed on most of this its just that I like things to work properly. f it had the function I was looking for I wanted to set it up but it doesn't.
The FOB is wearing which is why I was asking if there was a mechanical way of doing it.
Probably just get a new FOB
