another adventure in trying to test drive.
what is your opinion of a DEMO 2007 chevy hhr, sunburst orange, LT with all the options including: leather seats, satellite radio, 17'' rims, automatic, etc etc. The vehicle has apparently only 6000 kilometers on it. I say apparently becuz when i went to the GM dealer 3 days ago, they had absolutely no HHR's on the lot or in the big new showroom. He looked it up on the computer and found that an employee's mother was driving the demo car. This is why i am so frustrated with dealerships and called car sales people ''idiots''. He wanted to know if i wanted to buy the car. I told him ''' but you don't even have a HHR i can test drive , new or used!!! your DEMO hhr is loaned out to employees and your asking me to make an offer on a vehicle thats not here or i have ever driven!!!'''. He was a very friendly nice persian gentleman of about 50. He proceeded to tell me that it is a misconception of what DEMO means. So he points out to the lot of new cars and says '' demo can mean ANYYYYY vehicle on the lot, and employees get to take them home''. WHATEVERRR....i laughed in his face.....there were new hummers, corvettes, cadillacs, cobalts , malibus...you name it!! Anyways, going back saturday at 10:00 am for an ''arranged test drive specially for you''. A price he threw at me was 23 grand for that 6000 klms ''demo''.

to make this more since for me to understand.... can you put the canadian dollar to american dollar... first of all a "demo" you should get disconts on because of mileage, it's not the new 2007 HHR LT it has miles. Its still new according to the Department of Motor Vehicles because that HHR has never been titled. Shoot me a PM back and I might be able to help somewhat.... just make sure the oil was changed at 3,000 miles like it was supposed too... Other than that you should be saving thousands compaired to an HHR with maybe 2-10 miles on it.

Acoording to the manual, oil only needs changing when DIC tells you. However there have been many threads about this issue and not reopening a can of worms. People should do what they think is best for them and there vehicle. For me I change it around 5-7k miles or when it feels lil sluggish accelerating.

I'd look up the market price of a used '07 with the same options in your market and wouldn't pay much more than that. Call it what you want, but it's a 1 year old used car with low mileage.

well..its been about 2 days since i talked to the salesman. The guy took my email , cell number and promised to contact me with more info on that demo car. So far...absolutely no calls or emails. Tomorrow morning i will go as expected to that dealership and test drive the car. He specifically asked me to book an appointment at 10am just to test drive the demo. I refuse to follow up and call him to ask if the car is there and ready to drive...thats not my job, its his. who wants to bet the car aint there and he ''forgot''?

im in vancouver.....not going more then 15 miles to purchase a car. Dealerships should just get their act together if they want to make a profit. Otherwise..i just buy used private vehicles and lie about how much i paid when i go insure it.
