Suicides on the HHR are NOT fun. He said he wouldn't do it again for 10-grand. I feel sorry for anyone who buys that Lambo kit and thinks it's going to be cake also...the GM "Quiet Steel" our cars are made of is very difficult to weld & reinforce as it is made up of 4-layers of very thin steel sandwiched together.
Believe me, suicides was the FIRST mod I had planned for my HHR.
Back to the drawing board...

Sorry for my improper terminology, the body panels are very thin regardless. Go out to your HHR and give a firm press anywhere and see what happens (can you say dent!). I spoke with Erich in person at length about this, and he assured me it's no fun.
Believe me, if HHR suicides were easy - mine would be done already.
Anyone who tries them is in for a big surprise (and not a good one!).
Show cars are one thing (and many of them are "hacked").
Having a properly functional daily driver is a whole other perspective.
Especially if you are hauling kids in the back seat...

I've worked with lambo door installations and given the proper kit they're not as hard as you may think. Most open sorta like a conventional door a small amount then swing out and up. The door latch / release mechanism on the ones I worked with remained stock, only the hinges had to be replaced. Now suicide doors are a whole different story. Here's where you get into some deep kaka with custom fabrication.
Side note: Although the lambo doors aren't too hard to install on some cars, they are a PITA getting in an out of.
