Maybe a trickle charger that will keep the battery fully charged would help. I have one on my Harley as the security system would constantly drain the battery. It hooks to the battery posts and has a lead cable with a quick disconnect plug about 4' down the cord so you can hook it back up easily and it shuts off if the battery is fully charged. Cost $30. Its -3 with 50 mph wind gusts here today.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I appreciates it.

Rob-cyn,

The battery has plenty of juice, I'm just running straight 40 weight oil in it right now. The thickness and the cold combine to create a lot of strain on the starter. It got up to 40 degrees on Monday and the bus started right up without hesitation. Now we are back down to the negative temps again.
