Answer to GPS theft issue
Nokia N95-3
This phone just came out and is a Swiss Army knife for those who like to travel lite and keep their toys with them rather then in the car.
It has
GPS
5 MP Camera
30FPS Video recording
WiFi
Its a PDA and Smart Phone that can run programs
N Gage gaming
Receives fastest Internet data from ATT 3g
Stereo BT
Music Player 4GB SD Cards
Amazing portability of all these useful tools.
Oh and its a Cell phone too.
Price $650 and well worth it when you consider the costs of those features independently.

Except you have to pay an extra monthly fee to have access to GPS navigation and the software is usually not as intuitive as a regular GPS device.
If you're dumb enough to leave the GPS on the dashboard, you might as well just leave the doors unlocked so you don't have to sweep up broken glass.

Sorry, AT&T's faux-3G network is nowhere near as fast as Verizon and Sprint's EV-DO system, as evidenced by all the people duped into buying iPhones who can't even download music faster than dialup speed.
Why do I feel like I've been sucked into an off-topic Nokia-hating thread?

The iPhone is not 3g. It uses the EDGE network which is more than 10x slower then 3G which rivals WiFI in Download speeds at more then 3.6 Mbp which is plenty fast. And unlike the iPhone (and most if not all Verizon fare) has Fully implemented BT with file transfers to a PC via BT or USB without using the host network.
And no there is no additional cost for GPS. Its included in the data plan one needs if they want Internet access on their cell phone as well as MMS. In fact you can BT tether the Phone to my notebook for Internet access if I choose to do so.
It really is a great phone and trumps the iPhone in many areas not the least being Internet access, The iPhone does not even have stereo BT capability which is a huge omission for a "premiere" music phone.
I don't see the need for another GPS device. I get the same information needed to find a destination of my own location, speed, distance and all the other GPS goodies, Unlike the iphone I do not need to find a gas station to get the local zip code to input into Google Maps to find out where I might be ......

Uh, Sorry .......You need to do your homework before spewing inaccurate, incomplete information.

Willing to pay $650 for a phone, but ***** about having to get you car fixed by a free warranty.
Time to add to that ignore feature. I'm done here.

I don't see the need for any GPS devise. Much less want to use my phone for it. For $650? Amazing how many people need GPS to go places these days. Guess before you just stayed at home. Just another devise you buy that is outdated before it warms up.

a 5 MP Camera
30 FPS digital Video
Internet access
WiFi access
Music player (w/wireless headsets) which is really nice on two wheels.
PDA
and yes GPS for those times when I want to know how to avoid a traffic situation or just find a place of interest. No I don;t use it around town. Thats why I would never have one just for the car. I don't take joy rides in the HHR..
The wife's Spyder is a much better car for that.
And yes When I buy a car especially used I expect the first owner to take care of the normal TCB issues. Instead they apparently got fed up and traded it in rather then deal with them. I had them all fixed though.

YOUR BEING SERIOUS AREN'T YOU? YOU EXPECT THE FIRST OWNER TO TAKE CARE..... ALOT OF PEOPLE NOW A DAY'S DON'T CARE ABOUT TSB'S AND THEIR CAR IN FACT (JUST IN MY .2 CENTS)
