Any Body Have There Sub Roof Explode

that should say sun roof not sub roof on them yet to day I opened my sun roof on the way to work and heard a loud popping sound and felt something hit me in the head. So I pulled over to investigate and saw one of the arms on the littel cloth air deflictor thing sticking way up out of the track turns out the spring loaded arm broke free from the cast pot metal slide of course its rivited in so Im sure replacing it wont be cheap.. Just trying to see if any one has had this fixed and how long and how much did it cost. (should I bring my own KY to the dealer)? thanks in advance

Should be under warranty, check with your dealer.

I broke part of mine while testing the stereo system before. I fixed it myself. It wasnt the spring though.

Since it sold as an assembly, no serviceable parts are available. The thread above https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=11629 is a valid fix and you can do this yourself. afs9 here on the forum just had hers replaced too. Fortunately, hers was under warranty. Give it a try.

Another route would be to remove the cloth windscreen, arms and go get an aftermarket sunroof deflector. They dont look bad at all and its an easy install.

Happened to me a while back. Free (for me) as the warranty was in effect.

Like Jx3, warranty took care of mine too!

Had to go in for them to see what the problem was first (duh--pretty obvious), then they ordered the part, took about a week. Dropped it off first thing in the morning and was ready for pick up by the afternoon.
All total, about 7 days to get it seen to. I was still able to pop it up, and could have opened it, but would need help to close it.

Had this new one almost 2 months now and I think it has only squeeked once.
