Anybody put on Chrome side mirror covers ??

I Found some quality ones on E Bay but a little uncertain on how they would look.
They install with 3M tape. Much easier then factory covers.

My new 1LT with Cyber Grey paint needs a little bling.

I don't do funky stuff so need to know your thoughts.

Thanks,

SF

I would go with the factory chrome cover myself. In the tsb thread there is a post that explains how to remove the covers with pictures.

The factory ones just pop off and on, I have all three for the panel, SS smooth paint, 2LT chrome, and LS rough finish black. They are easy to change...

IIRC, the fix in the TSB is basically "put double sided tape on it".

I'm thinking those aftermarket tape on covers won't fit as well as the factory clip on covers

Blue,

Yes .. Me too and that's my problem with trying them. They look good in the picture when you blow the picture up but the proof is in the pudding.

I switched covers on my first 2011 HHR and that was a bit of a problem trying to get the originals off without damage.

That experience reminded me of why I might just try these that go over the originals without the removal.

And also in regards to Donbrews reply ... I remember the TBS that was actually on the excess wind noise and the fix was to remove the cover and follow their procedure to reduce the noise.
I did that on my first one while I was changing covers and it did help some but not completely.

This car has "No Wind Noise" either side and is the best of 9 HHR's I have owned. For that reason I hate to disturb the existing covers.

All this input is helping me make my decision ... I Think

On a side note, I went to several GM parts places on line and when you bring up the mirror assembly they show the break down without the cover separate. ???
Not sure what's that's about.

Guess I will have to call my Chevy Dealer parts dept. for a part number and price for the Chrome ones.

Found these GM black caps but maybe the part number is close to the chrome caps

Perhaps a few close pictures will help, if you have a few minutes, Lethal Tendencies
