I have a pet barrier for sale. It was in my wife's 2001 RAV4. Should fit the HHR without any problems as it is very adjustable (width/height).

If anyone is interested, email me!

How about a leash that buckles into seatbelt? I've been using one with Eddie for about four years, it keeps him in the back seat, lets him get his head to the window, and keeps him in the car (just in case of an accident).

The problem is that I have two kids and they really don't like sharing the seat with the dog. We usually only take the dog in the car on weekend trips, so they are usually sitting in the car for a few hours. I am trying to find a way of transporting the dog behind the back seat with the suit cases. The other reason I like the idea of the kennel is that she has a familiar place to sleep once we get there.
