Has anyone put rear disc brakes on their HHR yet? I've priced all of the cobalt SS parts to do the conversion, pricey but may be our only option for now. Any thoughts?

jeffs396....

Just wondering why you are asking ONLY about REAR disks. Since the rear brakes are only proportionate for about 20% of the braking. Seems like a bit of overkill and expense if you just do the front. Frankly, the HHR COULD use an ENTIRE new disk system (based on the number of complaints, here). That is, I believe, what hvrod did.

I think he is asking about converting the rear drums to a disc system, not putting bigger/better brakes all around. The front brakes are not that bad per se...just need better rotors.

I would upgrade the front also, just wondering if there were any aftermarket parts out there yet to do a rear conversion or if cobalt SS parts are the only option now. Could also use an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve to give the rears more of their share of work.

Opps...my mistake....misspoke/typed..

I meant to say rear and said front instead.

Ok, I guess I understand then. You might want to do a search and look at hvrod. If that is what you're looking for, PM him about your questions....he's generally receptive to questions.
