Arizona Road Trip
Ok, so I don't own an HHR, but have been doing alot of studying regarding the vehicle.
I wrecked my Avalanche and needed a rental car, so I requested an HHR and got it. I got an LS with absolutely nothing in it. Plane Jane.
Decided I needed to do a long trip to see who comfortable I felt. Took the following trip:
Left Mesa on 87 and went to Payson, Payson to Show Low and Show Low to Greer, AZ. About a 4 hour trip. I drove in "I" mode and had a ball. This car has the 2.2 litre engine and I couldn't beleive how well it took the mountains. I got about 24 or 25 mpg on the trip up.
Trip back:
Greer to Show Low, Show Low to Globe and Globe to Mesa
Again, I put my foot into it and got about 27 mpg.
Bottom line, I am sold. This car handled great. I am going to await the SS and go that direction.
PS
Came home and took the wife grocery shopping and I put the back into the shelf mode and she was sold from the feature alone.

The remote start feature is GREAT for taking the wife grocery shopping. With the air conditioner set to run with vent in the open position (not recycle), all the hot air gets pushed out the back of the HHR as you load the groceries in the "way back". I love it.
