I've been using that 303 protectant for a few years myself. Good stuff.

I use the Ice interior cleaner, works great, even on the cloth seats, looks good, smells nice. Only draw back is the texture. It could be used on a porn film for special effects.

303 was developed to be used by NASA on equipment in the Apollo program. They needed a product that would protect the many rubber items with out leaving any damage.

It is not as shiney as Armor All but it will not hurt anything and is recomended by many MFG of auto accessories, RV's and boat MFG.

It can be found at even many marine boat houses.

I try not to use much of anything inside the car till I need to. But I use 303 unde the hood for general detailing and clean up. It will not damage the electronics.

Thanks!

i have searched and searched , but never found anything that was even recomended for rubber. now , how will i get the armor all off? 303? i used to work in a piant/body shop, there i found what just a tiny bit of armor all and other things can really ruin a painters day , or 2. this is why i use any protectant with caution , just because i am ussually planning on restoring something. if i use it i allways put the aplicator in a plastic bag so that i don't use it on something i may want to , or have to paint someday . hot water will remove wax, but i believe you could put a torch to silicone and some would still survive.

The truth is silicone is in most products you use today including most waxes and polish. [FAQ at Meguires web site will bear this out].

Most trained painters know how to deal with this and know what of many products to use to remove the silicone before paint. So dealing with silicone is not an issue if do the correct things to prep the part for paint correctly. Most paint jobs are ruined because of poor or incomplete prep.

It is a good practice to have pads to use that are for specific products.

As for getting Armor All off just scub your tires with a good cleaner and use the new product of choice. Most often tires do not suffer damage as they wear out before they are damaged.

I use Megires on my tires and 303 on most other things.

is this all old information or have people had armor all recently destroy parts of their car?

Just wondering if this is turning into an old wives tale, or something that they have since fixed in the formula.

Went to the armor all site in the FAQ and they list specific questions on it harming your car, dash, tires, rubber, all that and pretty much say it is safe. They even list the ingredients of what is in it.

To remove any and all dressing, dirt, ect. from tire sidewalls, nothing beats this stuff.

It's been around forever and should be available just about anywhere. It's mainly for cleaning whitewalls and raised white letters but works great on the entire sidewall of any tire too. Read directions when using!
