Armrest fix TSB etc. WHo's had it done.....

I'm wondering what is done, if it is worth the bother, will the dealer hassle me, etc. I'd like the passenger armrest to be corrected to. But then again, wht exactly is the correction?
Anyone done it yet?

I guess some complaints made GM issue a TSB on the armrests not being able to adjust in a more useful manner ?
The passenger one on my car follows the seat angle and has no ratcheted ridges, etc. Neither does the driver one, but the passenger one , which I use since I find the driver one too close, is often at a silly angle and would really benefit from a useful way to adjust it.

Anyway, I think that is what the TSB is about, not sure hence the post.

Our new Honda Oddity has nice adjusting armrests that have a number of ratcheted positions. They work well enough, but I still ordered another BIGGER armrest for my lazy right paw

I, too, was curious on what the armrest issue was. I'm fine with mine except that they somewhat minimize the convenience of the cupholders, and my seatcovers don't take care of my armrests. Still trying to find some quick fix for easy armrest-only covers.

Here is a thread on what was found/done. I got mine replaced when they were down and useless, replacing them raised them up. My thinking is they should be adjustable.

I had it done and it's better than when it came out of the factory, but it's still not really useful for me...the whole armrest is about an inch lower than where I need it.

I'm going to see if I can get some sort of padding added to the top of it to make it more useful for me.

Thanks I had read that thread some time ago and was wondering what else had come up. Perhaps I should have resurrected the thread

Anyway, it seems the arm rests point downward if you sit your seat back up straight, so Chevy shims them up some how. I lean mine back and almost sit in the back seat anyway, so the driver's armrest is usually in a decent position for me if I use it. Since I often use the passenger side armrest and my wife has that seat almost straight, it becomes an issue at times.

When she drives she never uses any armrests. I just can't do that

I don't think there's anything wrong with my armrests except, as Black Rose stated, they're too low for tall people. Here was my solution. It works great on long trips even though the cupholders are blocked. You can actually put your elbow on the armrest and have your hand on the wheel. What a novel idea!

I wish my armrest would point down. Because of the angle of my seatback the armrest is at en extreme angle up making it useless. Most of the time I fold mine up and use the passenger side one.
