I guess it’s the window down and flick you ashes out of it.

Or quite smoking.
Don't know what a carton of cigarettes goes for, but if both of you quit, that money can go in the cookie jar for a vacation.

Knew someone would come along and get all PC. It's like they can't help themselves. Not the input I'm looking for, though.

Then let’s close this, you don’t see anything you agree with.

Ashtray topic ain't done

My previous ashtray thread got closed on me and I hadn't even heard from smokers yet.

I'm pretty sure there have to be smoking HHR drivers that have dealt with the ashtray issue. I'm looking for input as to what they may have done to put an ashtray in their HHR.

The suggestions on my previous thread I did check out. I liked the one where an ashtray was mounted in the lid to the storage on the top of the dash. That would work great for me but it's my wife's car and her reach made it a no-go. The suggestion of an ashtray hung from the vent would work until you turned on the air conditioner. That'll blow ashes all over the place.

The suggestion about just flicking ashes and butts out the window is a no-go. In my car the windows are always down and NOTHING gets thrown out the window. Of course, my car has an ashtray in the dash.

I am looking at that little tray area in the console in front of the shifter. Seems like that could be made useful. Been browsing around and haven't as yet found anything that would sit in there. Gonna keep looking.

Currently using a cup type ashtray in the beverage holder but we'd sure like to free that spot up for, you know, beverages.

So,,,,,,, smokers, what have you created.

Since you didn't like the way the previous conversation was going, why do you think this thread will be any different?

It really isn't rocket science - why not just figure it out yourself - what works for others may not work for you.

I might be the only smoker that's here at the forum on a regular basis... But, the OP isn't going to like what I do because it involves the front cup holder.

Thank you for your warm and informative comments. I shall certainly give your post the consideration it's due.

Now that my threads have been merged Post#5 that oldblue did has a link to a coupla different options. Wasn't able to use the ones that I liked due to the short stature of my wife. There may be some that you'd be interested in, though.
