Auto Dim Mirror?

Tried doing a search on this and really couldn't find anything. On a 2007, is the wiring harness there to add an "Auto Dim Mirror w/Compass? I know that the 2008 model are standard. Just needing to know this before diving into installing one. Would be nice just to plug and play.....

Yes, I read that thread. But, I was hoping not to have to run any wires.

Did 07 have a auto dim option? If so, I would think the wire is there for it already. Also, does the compass in the mirror need an extra wire or sensor to work? My mirror already has the lights in it from the factory. I haven't taken anything apart yet.

My 07 has an auto dimming mirror. I believe that it was only an option with OnStar.

My '07 came with the auto-dimming mirror w/compass as well, but as the case before me, I have OnStar. I'm sorry I can't be of further assistance..

I ordered my '07 2LT with the auto-dimming mirror w/compass option. I did not order Onstar.

I have an '06 with auto-dimming mirror w/compass and NO Onstar. Got it that way from the factory.

With the way it's sounding as of now, you might be in luck. I don't think that all these different options (06/07, OnStar/No OnStar, etc..) would be available without them putting the same harness into all of them. The only thing that would be different that I can see is the OnStar antenna wire and speaker wire. The compass and auto-dim feature are probably self-contained within the mirror, and need no other wires besides power/remote or whatever. Good luck!

Maybe somebody with the Auto Dim Mirror and compass could relate back the # of wires and their color at the plug into the mirror, which would indicate whether the upgraded mirror (GM) would work. Thanx

That's what I'm hoping for, (not wanting the Onstar) and you are saying that most likely just 1 power wire for the mirror and compass? I'm also wondering if the mirror used is made by Gentex ? Anyone know this? Just hoping that this might be a universal plug-in and not have to cut any wires.

Is there any site that may have wiring diagrams on this? I know that is asking a lot, but had to ask anyway.
