Angry Auto Door Locks

I have an '09 HHR SS 5 Spd and as soon as the vehicle rolls in either direction, the doors automatically lock. The owners manual as well as Chevrolet can't de-program it, and a tuner I spoke with doesn't have the soft ware. Can anyone help me get rid of this obnoxious feature? Hope this wasn't someones previous post. Love the car, hate the door locks

thatsn pretty standard with any new car. There is a way to change it in the main menu to change it but I still think it will lock when the cars in motion. Just press the info button and reset button at the same time then scroll through the menu.

I like the feature. On my Avalanche, the vehicle has to get up to a certain speed (10 mph+) before it locks.

I don't think they can be disabled IIRC.

Exclamation

you can program the locks to unlock the driver door, or both doors, when the car is shut off. or not unlock the doors. the unlock option is programmable, & it says how to do it in the owners manual. since i am by myself, 99% of the time, i have mine set to only unlock the driver door.

I also like how it locks/unlocks with the shifter. I hate when it locks at a speed, that's annoying. I personally like it locking because I do drive through some not so nice areas often, and I like the security. Plus the fact that in an accident the doors are less likely to open is great.

it's a love/hate item.

you will all want the 'option' removed when the lock actuator is faulty...... getting locked out of a running car, locked house when scrapping the windows is not fun. Have had to have two lock actuators replaced with under 20K miles on the car.

when the wife wants out of the car, shifter has to be in park. no kicking her out when its rolling.
