Shouldnt be a problem, maybe you should get it checked out.
Are you in "I" instead of "D"?

Limter is set by tire speed rating.

No, I am in The D position. The tires are the Michelin Piolts 225 45's. I tried again today and same. What have you other guys in the autos hit?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the SS come with "Z" speed rated tires? (point being, they're rated for "in excess of 149 mph")

If its like any other GM product..once you pass 3/4 throttle position your locked out of 4th..another way to look at it..your in passing gear! You might be able to install a bypas switch to the lockup converter so it works in 3rd which will give another 200 rpm or so unless it requires (and probably will) a tuners help to reprogram it.

It's a great feeling knowing that you are at the limit of your tires, lol. Haven't done much in the SS, but I have done 135 MPH in an STi and 120 MPH in an Evo MR during a test drive :)
