Automatic or manual

I think both do have rev limiters. No-lift shifting is fun, too, but I mostly used it for 2-3 shifts on highway ramps. You can easily merge with traffic quickly. hehehe You have to concentrate to do it, though. That habit of lifting to shift is deeply ingrained.
Almost like driving a RHD manual. See which hand moves to shift the thing... Probably NOT the left, unless you really focus on it.

Top speed is supposed to be limited depending on the factory equipped tires, for liability reasons.
My LS is 110mph, but I dont think I will ever verify it personally.
Rev limiter on the SS was 6300rpm from factory, 6500rpm with the GMPP upgrade.

My quarter mile trap speed in a stock LS 2.2 was 89mph, so Id need a pretty long hill to prove it. :p
GM says the top speed for an SS is "over 150mph" so that would also be a challenge. 155mph is a common setting for speed limiters in europe, even in higher performance cars.

There is a RPM limiter for when it is not in gear, anyway. Not sure about when driving.
You would be hard pressed to find tires with a speed rating less than S (112 MPH) supplied by any factory. https://www.ntb.com/info/a20022/what...e-speed-rating
Usually, that is a function of the wheel diameter.
If the top speed of a SS is over 150 MPH the stock tires would be rated V, W, Y or Z following that logic. Most tires I've looked at are H. Never looked at SS tires.

Top speed
Occasionally on a "long and lonesome highway (sic west) of Omaha..." I have been able to reach the limited or ecm governed speed in a few vehicles.
Can't write all the details (protect the guilty) but based on experience I'd say an average GM vehicle shuts down at about 104-106 mph. Slow down back below the number and normal functions return. The performance models excluded as I haven't tried in these vehicles.
