Best Sunroof Visor/Wind Deflector

Well the driver side arm of the crappy mesh sunroof visor/wind deflector snapped on me yesterday. I'm leaning towards going for one of the hard plastic ones instead of replacing what the HHR comes with. As far as an aftermarket one, could I please get opinions or recommendations on what the best one to get specifically for the HHR is?

Thanks for the help, this site has consistently proven to be the BEST site anywhere to get info on the HHR.

I can't say which one is good for the HHR, but I had one for my Jetta a few years back, and I loved it

Remember, if you are still under warranty, they will fix it for free. jx3 and I have both had the same thing happen--had it ordered, one day in the shop and good as new! Seems inconsequential, but they had to replace the whole thing.

So far no problems (had it replaced in early August--car was one year old 8.31.08).

But am also considering getting a deflector and keep it handy...I hate not having my sunroof!

good luck!

jx3 - Thanks for the link! This is EXACTLY what I need because I plan on removing this myself rather than get raped at the dealer.

R CA HHR - MUCH thanks for the instructions and pics! I'm not quite sure how much a new wind deflector goes for at the dealer, but I'm sure it can't be good. If anyone has any brand names and models that work for them and fit the HHR I'd love some advice. Thanks again for all the help everyone.

There are two ways to attach the wind deflectors. Some use a tape, another brand will use tape or clips (take your pick) so that they can be removed. I would like the ones with the clips. Also some are wide (front to back) and some are narrow so not to cover much of the sunroof. I'm still looking for some with clips and narrow.

I have the one from Race and Street, the Benevento one. All it has is two thumb screw clips, pretty easy to put on. I like it because it is nice and thick plastic, no vibration. I think you will like it.
