Bike rack
So since I'm not about to install a trailer hitch on a 4cyl car, I'm looking for a bike rack that fits an HHR without a hitch. Are any of you guys cyclists without hitches? Whats a good no hitch rack?

Mountain equipment co-op, MEC.ca is a good place for bike racks.
Nothing wrong with adding a hitch, they are about $150 for the HHR. Youd probably want a rack that pivots down for access to the hatch though. Much easier than roof racks IMO.
Do you have the roof rails on your hhr? If so its about $500 for the crossbars and bike racks. I think you can add aftermarket roof rails, but I havent priced them.
Or you could do what I do, pull the front bike wheels off and throw everything in the back. I can fit 3 people with bikes.

yeah, its tight but you can still use one rear seat. If the baby seat is rear facing, you might be out of luck, I can only fit mine in the center position, which is gone when you fold the passenger side seatback down.

I did not find a suitable non hitch bike rack, so I broke down my 43 year rule and installed a hitch and now a Sportrack 2 bike carrier, man after that long with "no I can't tow your trailer for you, sorry" freedom, but I will remove the hitch for the winter.

I'm interested in a bike rack that will carry at least three bikes. I've heard there are some out there but that they require a class II hitch (the max is 2 bikes with a class I hitch). Seems like finding a class II hitch for a 2008 HHR LS is harder than hitting the lottery.
Figured I'd ask around here to see if anyone else might have info. I really do NOT want to use a hatchback/trunk rack.
Thanks in advance.

3 bicycles weigh more than 2,000 lb.??? That's what class I is rated, class II is up to 3,500 lb.. Both use the same size receiver (1.25 inch square) according to Wikipedia.
