What next we sing kumbaya at traffic lights? Just kidding.
There is nothing wrong with waiving if you like I want to state this up front. But you need to consider that not everyone is in love with their HHR for many reasons. You need to consider that there are other types of owners out there. In time more owners will become enthusiast and it may change but it will be some time yet.
Bikes are one thing since you are out in the open or a MG [they are just amazed someone else got theirs running too] but for a car that is my daily driver I don't really care to get or give a wave. I have other things better to do like just get home from work and many days if I waive with what I feel like you may only get one finger.
Just leave the waives to cars that there are few of and that are not daily drivers.
Maybe in 25 years the HHR will fit this class but for right now it is not rare nor that special to most that own it today. One has to consider 30% of each years production was rental. Most that do own bought one since it was affordable and practical. They don't name them and their HHR's were built not born. Many don't even wash them.
So if you want to waive go for it and enjoy. There is nothing wrong if you feel the need. But on the other hand do not get upset if it is not returned or given back.
Many of us like our HHR's but we are not living the HHR life style nor is it our pet. I is just another daily driver we like and enjoy that gets us to work and back.
Also many of the SS guys bought it for the performance and most not all performance guy just don't waive. If you waive often that is an invite to a race.
Now if I had a Ferrari and only passed one or two others per year I may give a cool passing nod. LOL!

Almost every one driving an SS I've seen has waved or gave a rev as a "hey". I see a red panel SS all the time when I'm in the work truck. I don't think he's on here though. The dealer should give owners this site when they buy their HHR's. I support the "wave" idea.

I would gladly wave to a nice looking hhr for sure.
but... to some of your replies I will add...
I pulled up next to a dirty, silver LS today with aweful dirty hubcaps side by side at a light and he didn't give one look over... ( i would of been ashamed if i were him anyways...lol )
for those people I say wave none...
to the other guy stating that you can tell if you have a modded hhr and know who would likely wave. I am on board.!!!
You just know who is an enthusiast.
they are a dead give away.
I am one for sure...
p.s. yesterday who ever was heading down fuller road in chicopee,ma in a black hhr with some chrome I say hey!

Got fed up with the "wave" at commuter hours here in NY. Now to get attention I have almost finished recessing my remote controlled radar enhanced rotating machine gun for those people. I think I have even voiced my displeasure in a prior thread.
However I do have to say when I am not commuting most people are receptive. Met an older couple (late 60s early 70s? No disrespect-just mentioned as reference) more excited about their HHR (Black of course) and seeing mine than I was. The mans wife yelled she love driving around in it. Also met people at lights, in traffic (cute blonde...), and in my developement who was visiting someone. I all told them about chevvyHHR.net. Was also thinking about making business cards when I got a chance (can't right now, father in law just had a stroke (bleeding in brain kind) and needs surgery-say a little prayer if you have a chance, and my mother inlaw just had bladder cancer removed, they were going to have a 45 wedding anniversary party in june at a hall but may have to cancel it. Might have something here at my house instead. Didn't mean to give a downer but everyones thoughts might help. Thanks for listening...)
When thing pick up and I design the cards (would include HHR pics) I'll let you guys know. Might do it in a format that can be emailed to anyone and changed to suit the HHR leaving/giving the card. All you would have to do is supply your own card stock. For those that don't have access to a printer I could mail a sheet to you.

We used to do it as a Saturn owner, why not now? I just give the ASL sign for "H" whenever I see a fellow HHRer. Sometimes they wave back, sometimes they look confused. I figure that if we love our cars enough to create/visit web forums about them, might as well wave at each other. It's the Chevy version of MINI's "Motoring".
