Black on used car lot
#11
I wonder if any of them are vehicles from the recent floods down south. There is a warning out regarding used vehicles that may have been insurance cases that are being recycled through dealerships in other parts of the country. There were several states that were listed as questionable sources of low-mileage used cars for this reason. I would definitely like to know where the used car was licensed before it wound up on the used car lot, especially with a 2006 vehicle!

I live in a small town pop. 3300 and we have a small car lot and he now has his 2nd one on the lot. I looked at the first one but I thought it was too much money. He had an LS with 19,000 and the interior looked bad, cig burn and pop and coffee stains and he was asking$18,900. He now has a black LT which looks nice but I do not know how much he is asking for it since I just bought mine last week.

Since it's in MA, it might be the one I almost bought several months ago. I wanted leather interior, but they couldn't get a black one w/ leather and had a custom interior done by a local shop. The job was botched and they couldn't fix it, so I refused delivery and ordered one from another dealership w/ factory leather. They probably couldn't sell it as "new," so it probably ended up in a used car lot.

Deadhead, that definetely sounds like a rental if it has stuff slopped all over it. If you got the VIN, you could do a Carfax or some other search on used cars and see where it came from. The used prices are as much as new. Maybe their gimmick is to ask a fortune initially and then slip you the real price after you "drive a hard bargain".

How long does a car rental company hold on to cars?

Yeah Kodak that is what I was thinking, If I would have been interested in that car I am sure he would have shown me a great price for my trade-in. $18,900 is a lot for a used LS when You can get an LT with the 2.4 for around $19,000 which is what i originally was looking at but moved up to the 2 LT. Once I sat in those heated leather seats it was all over LOL.

The used LS that Enterprise has in Rochester only has"alloy" wheels that look to be extras. Other than that, it is an LS with automatic and they want $18,990 for it. The LS without the wheels was $16,300 during the Red Tag Sale and about $16,900 right now. Usually , rentals are loaded, but lately, they're buying the cheap stuff and expecting you to pay new car retail for them.
