Brake light switch

First I would like to say hello as this is my first post.
I have just purchased an HHR to use as a towed behind my 5th wheel trailer. The supplemental braking system I installed calls for a feed back wire from the brake light switch to the tow vehicle. There is a two prong female socket on one of the two switches mounted on the brake pedal. Does anyone know what this female socket is for and if I can get a male socket to fit it and use it rather than try to splice into one of those dinky wires on the brake switch?

Welcome to the site. I can't answer your question but know there are a couple members on the site that use their HHR as a toad behind their RV's . Someone most likely will answer.

Just found that Bob&Pat traded a car they used as a toad on they Rv for a HHR so you could go the to the member list and PM (private message), If they see your post I'm sure they will answer. Some guys are on every day and others are only every so often.

So, new or used? enjoy

See you still didn't get an answer which surprised me. You can always call a Chevy dealer and talk to someone in the service dept, they may help. Also give an RV dealer a call, they handle tow equip and should be familiar with different vehicles people tow behind them. Good luck. Most new members get a better welcome than what I've seen here so far. Perhaps your question threw them! Hang in and you'll find this is a pretty good site.

Thanks for the input. I'm not in a big hurry, I won't be towing it till probably May.
I can drive over to the dealers but I have found most of the time it's easier and quicker to ask people who have done it.

BRAKE LIGHT BLUE (+) @ SWITCH above BRAKE PEDAL

we tag this all the time for remote start auto shut down, its not a big deal, you can go to any auto parts store, and buy a bag of 3m scotchlock (t-tap) and hit it this way. it bites into the wire and makes a it a slide on connection. get a bag of the red ones, they are made for hitting smaller wires, if you need any help just pm me, and welcome to the forum

Thanks for the info on the red ones and blue wire. Is the blue wire only + when you step on the pedal?. I have blue ones that came with the AIR FORCE ONE brake kit. I just hate to use them
