To buy or not to buy

I'm seriously considering purchasing an HHR. Obviously most of you in this forum are happy with your vehicle.

But could you give me your opinion on whether or not to purchase a 2007.

What are the pros/cons of this vehicle

What are the price ranges?

Thanks for your help.

Libertino.....

Not being sarcastic here, but this question has been asked by a number of people on this forum, as well as others. You can use the search function for details, or if you can be more specific regarding your concerns, we may be able to help.

We searched every dealer in a 100 mile radius through Chevy.com. And just bought a NEW '06. For the money a new '06 with the options we wanted was cheaper than a '07 equally equipped. I have never put so much effort into getting a car but it paid off. Yes the '07 would have a better warranty but they're the same car as in '06 and if you read on here as I did there is only minor problems. Do your homework and weigh everything out.

For my 2 cents (and with a Dad that was in the car business for 35+ years), go for the 2007. There's no way you can get a good enough deal from the dealer on a 2006 to make up for the fact that it's already a model year old as soon as you drive it off the lot. Actually it's a year old just sitting there, but you know what I'm drivin' at. DEPRECIATION!

I factory ordered an '07, it took just about 2 months to receive from the day I ordered, and I LOVE IT! I could not be happier.

Good luck with your decision.

I still think that the new extended warranty and the fact that it's an 07 is the way to go. Sure, the 06's are cheaper. But a lot of fixes have been in the works since the first year. The 06 is the "prototype" year, and as such, it's held dearly here as "Year One Owner" and such. But I think the 07 is more likely to have less service issues than the 06 and b/c of depreciation, worth every penny more that you'd have to pay.

A lot of TSB's under the bridge since the 06's came out. And there were a lot of issues, as I read them here.

Chevy offera some great options but the basic HHR is still better than most other vehicles on the street. I love the premium stereo with 6-CD changer but the basic one would have been fine. You can easily live without the roof racks or running boards. I've owned manual transmissions most of my life but could only find automatic HHRs around here. I really don't need the remote start that came with it for $1,000. After taxes and title, mine was $19,400. Just try to buy a Toyota for that price!

The bottom line is you can easily build a cheap '07 HHR and get exactly what you want versus picking up an '06 on the lot with options you may never use.

That is really up to you. Read up on the 06 and the 07.
The only difference is the light switch. And of course the warranty,
but I was on the impression that all 06's still in lots were to have it as well.
Which ever you decide on, enjoy it.
You will be the one to be driving it.

Go with your heart and either will be great! I bought a Certified Pre-owned with 3,600 miles that saved me thousands. It just depends on your needs.

I would have to say buy an 07. When spending that much money get the newest model, small improvements and better warranty.

OR, what till GM is hurting to get rid of the 06. Problem with that is that the choices will be real limted.
