Bye, Bye - SS
Nice visiting on the forum. I will be visiting on "Corvetteforum" now.
I traded in my 2008, Black, SS for a 2006, Black, c6 Corvette. I got tired of running mid14 sec. 1/4 times. & looking forward to mid12 sec. times.
I enjoyed.

Must really hate driving if your willing to spend big bucks to shave 2 seconds off your drive time.
But really I just don't get it, I've never been in that big of a hurry.
Don't get me wrong i'd love a Vette too, but I'd be more of a slow cruiser, enjoying the ride.

I'm a member of the Corvette Forum, and I know a list is printed somewhere on there, for stock car quarter mile times. I believe, the list does not contain one STOCK LS2 that will turn in the mid 12's. The LS3 will and I am one of those.
Now for the fuel mileage. .......at highway speeds you will experience something very similar to the HHR....if you drive appropriately (remember this is a real performance 8 cylinder ...not you GF's Buick). On, trips I constantly experience 30-31 MPG at hwy speed...even with a LITTLE fun. I posted the recent results of a trip, in another thread....if your interested. Oh, and the LS2 generally achieves slightly better mileage than the LS3, mostly because of 36 HP less.
Now for insurance and midlife crisis, which comes from someone that has a Vette in his signature (strange huh), because my above comments cover the fuel mileage. My insurance for the Vette is $27/6 months less ($348/6mo) than the HHR. Probably because the Vette is MY secondary vehicle. Insurance rates vary because of location, etc. so you MAY experience something different. Mid-life crisis is a common "slam" from people that have a jealousy of others who have such things. But I have, through, my entire life, had similar vehicles. However, they were mostly secondary, as the Vette is. I have paid cash for the last 10-12 vehicles that I have owned. Nothing wrong with financing, it just does not fit my lifestyle. So, if I have a good year in the stock market, I buy a new car....as I did with the Vette. By the way, I was in the market for a BMW Z4 M3 coupe/fastback but they are by order only which takes 16-18 weeks....I wouldn't wait.
If you want, send me a PM with your CF tag and I'll send you mine. We can keep in touch.
