Enjoy the Vette! I'm happy right now running mid- high 13's. If you were closer I'd say let's run em down the track lol.

Later

Ok.....

I think the list has changed since the last time I looked at it (about a year ago). So I will yield to the listings. BUT, I do remember a couple of these were challenged as not being "bone" stock (controversy on one having A COW tune).

One of the guys on the ls2 list is a friend of mine and I can tell you quite frankly his times are real AND I know he is a VERY experienced M6 driver. When he races thru the gears, it's not even noticeable.......not many people do that. I know, I know most men THINK they are Gran Prix, NASCAR drivers. But the fact of the matter is....very few are. Don't know your skill level, but it better be REALLY REALLY good to get into that range.....just saying.

I've been up against a couple of stock LS2's, in T & T's, and blew them away. Another had quite a few speed mods done and he "ate" me. And as long as war stories are going.....a FORD (dare I use profanity) truck absolutely killed me. After the race and in the pits, he told and showed me his twin turbos, cam, headers, lightened body ("glass" front end). I ran well, but not good enough at 12.74. He had me by about 1.3 seconds.

Point being....a stock LS2 and a stock LS3 and driving skills that parallel, the LS3 will win every time...automatic and manual trans. It's a matter of controversy but the bottom line is the LS3 has 30-36 HP more and a better trans. The real vehicle weight is essentially the same....give or take 50# depending on options. AND THE LS3's are pretty consistent with their times.

But I do wish you luck and I hope you achieve your goal. Let me know !!

Enjoy the trade; the Vette will get Better mileage than the HHR, is much faster, and will be cheaper to insure because it can only kill/maime 2 people. BUT you cant carry much, which is why I have an HHR and a Vette!
