Has anyone here had any experience with bypassing the foglight switch, as to have the fog lights on at all times that the car is running???

Hello,
Read this thread on how to.....Depends on what year your HHR is.
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/fog-light-switch-mod-how-15987/

Guess you use the same switch as the hazzards.

Cheers!

Why would you want your fog lights to stay on all the time? I already have people flashing their lights at me with them off until I hit my brights and blind them even worse. I've used my fog lights maybe 5-10 times since I had the car. Now my 2004 GTO, I used them almost all the time as the lights on that car were horrible.

switch bypass

I want them on because I like the look and added safety with them on...I never get flashed by oncoming drivers...maybe your lights are aimed too high??

Look up World's Fassest HHR on Youtube. Those fog lights look soooo BAD ASS!

Turning on the fog's is part of my pre-frlight checklist everytime followed quickly by Auto Lights Off. It looks especially nice at dawn and dusk.

I like the look?

How would you know what "the look" is when you are behind the wheel?

They are FOG LAMPS, to be used when there is fog. "THE LOOK" irritates the hell out of people coming at you.

Turn em off unless you need them.

(I couldn't verify because there are no pics in your album)...but can I assume that your vehicle is unmodified and plain-jane? No nice wheels, no stubby antenna, no replacement headlights nor taillights? Nothing?
I say this because that is all cosmetic stuff that can't be seen while you are behind the wheel, and is usually installed because the owner likes "the look".

In central Mississippi we rarely get fog. EVERYBODY that has fogs here RUNS them. Especially those wanna-be-soccer moms in their mega-transporter-Tahoes, Burbs, Expeditions and Excursions.

And the "unless you need them" part should be on the same page as not using your winkie unless you intent to create new life with your partner.

fog lights

There is nothing at all "blinding" about fog lights unless they are improperly aimed...as a matter of fact, foglights cannot function as intended unless they are aimed low to the pavement......just like daytime running lights, they do provide at least a small amount of added safety (day or night) and they do look very cool, even if I can't see them from the drivers seat...
