A/C control

I would like to know if anybody has reversed wiring on the outside air and recirculating air buttons..I would like the recirculating mode to be on when the ac is turned on ,without pressing the button. When you turn it on now the outside air comes in and the last month its been over 100 and 100% humidity.I would like the recirculate mode to be the default, stopping outside air from getting in the car, has anybody done this???? Sorry to say that its a function of the BCM and not the switch module, you're up against a default program rather than a simple switch swap.

Ive been checkin around the net and repair manuals. It appears that an actuator opens and closes the door to recirculate. If its not spring loaded where it will open when power is lost, i think i can close the door to recirculate ,then disconnect the power to the act.Ill give it a try.MIKE

Man... if there would be a simple way to do this, I'd be on board too. I admit I didn't read the above mentioned thread as to the reasonings why our HHR's are like this, but I know my wife's '08 Impala with dual zone climate will remote start and the AC can be on Recirculate. The Owner's Manual for the Impala, like our HHR mentions rolling windows down to shed some of the hottest air, but I, like a previous poster, don't open the window(s) for that purpose.

I know, this is kind of annoying, but I understand the logic of the default there for the entire nation I guess... I live in upper midwest where it rarely gets into 90s, but I still prefer recirculate ASAP.

I have just developed it as part of my "startup routine" in summer driving! When I get in I press recirculate, fog lights, and performance mode, and flip on the driving lights. It is just a routine I have now!

This is what i came up with the wire controling the actuator is pnk/wh i could see the act. but couldnt reach it so i followed the wires and its inside the glove box opening to the left .Damper was closed in recirculate mode and i cut the wire and taped it.Turn the key off then start again ,damper stays closed ,Thats what i was lookin for. This is in a 2010 i dont know if it sthe same in other years.. rd/wt or pk/wt? I only ask because both the 2006 and 2010 manuals show that wire as pk/wt and it looks pk/wt in your picture.
