A/C Vents and the F150

Did Chevy and Ford collaborate on the design of AC vents or something? I was riding in a friends F150 over the weekend and I noticed that the vents are nearly identical to those in my HHR. The chrome ring is different and it seems like Ford's has a slightly more "bubbled" shape to it when they're closed. I noticed Ford used those same vents in the Mustang as well. It just makes me wonder how two unique manufacturers come up with such a similar design. My theory is that there is some third party AC vent salesman out there wearing a "Salesman of the Year" medal around his neck.

Just the latest style. I think the same team who did the GT also did the F150 and 'stang, and they all have the same vents. I like the design, though. A lot simpler than some other styles.

Yeah I definitely like the design. I guess that's why I've taken particular notice. I like how easy it is to shut them completely, how easy it is to rotate them around, and how well they seem to direct air. The smaller multiple fins of other designs seem to just "suggest" that the air move in a different direction.

Same style as in my 05 Matrix...rotatable, easy to direct air
