Wow, I just so happened to be in PT Bob's today; what a friggin' mess! I don't know how he finds anything and I'm not surprised he screwed up your order. I remember when his place looked like it was prosperous; must have been when he was just doing PT's. I was curious to see how his shop looked inside; I never had a reason to go in before buying my HHR. I won't be ordering from him anytime soon......

Actually they have a new wheel that looks nice. It`s one of the ones I`m considering.

I find irony in this only because of this photo of the view outside my house (yes, they're both mine).

I think he meant the short-lived reincarnation of a few years ago.

I am really sorry to hear about problems with CC and Bob. I don't doubt that the problems are real, but the guy has been GREAT with me. I hope that he and the cutomers can get their problems solved. Many of the things that he sells were designed for the PT. The eye lids need to be MODIFIED to fit anywhere close. So that can be a PROBLEM. I don't know about the bumpers, I will see him I hope 7-21-07 and I will talk to him about how he solved this problem.

See ya down the road

Update on my dealings with PT Bob

Just a recap and update of my problems with California Cruisers:

originally posted this on 5/24/07:
I just had to put this thread out there for all newcomers and all members! DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM CALIFORNIA CRUISERS!
They are such rip offs it is ridiculous. I have had nothing but trouble with them for the last 2 months! I ordered a rolled visor (painted) (which I do like the visor), bumpers (SUCKED didn't fit or look good at all), wheel well trim (came in one roll, but short on material), door cups, antenna bezel and tail light rings (these 3 items were ok).
I ordered and he charged my CC on 3/30/07 (probably seconds after he hung up). PT Bob told me I would receive everything in 1 week, HAH a month later still no parts.
On April 17th I emailed him to see if it had been shipped yet, he said still going through paint! Finally I told him to just send me an unpainted visor, which I finally received on 5/2 unpainted. He said he would credit me $100.00 because it was unpainted. Still have not received that credit.

Now the bumpers-he sent me 2 front bumpers. I tried since 4/17/07 to get the correct bumper, never seen it, so on 5/12/07 I sent them back. It cost me $62.97 for shipping, I don't feel I should have to pay that since it was his mistake. He admitted he sent 2 front. Then he turns around and says they were correct after he received them (but in another email he admitted they were incorrect). He said I could only have store credit and would have to pay a restock fee!

So now I am going to do this:

I demanded my refund of the $587.97 he owes me from almost a year ago.

He passed the deadline I gave him to send my money so Monday April 7th I am filing my small claims case with the San Bernardino Small Claims office.

I will also asking the court to make him reimburse me my airfare, rental car and hotel for having to come out there to take him to court to get my money has owed me since last summer.

I have about 50 emails and other proof of what he owes me to take with me.

I really hate doing this but why should he have my money and the merchandise I sent back?

Anyway just needed to vent again.

This whole deal is rotten. I can't believe you have to fly there to fight for your money. Word of mouth can kill a business and I hope this thread gets a lot of hits.

Have you also lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau? I would definitely do that too...and I'm sure you won't be the first, nor the last. Have heard nothing but bad stuff about these guys. Good luck and please keep us posted.

I did file a complaint with the BBB the first part of March, and they sent my complaint to Cal Cruisers but so far he has not responded to the complaint to them. Which doesn't surprise me. He is such a loser!
