Can I get white now?

I tried to order my HHR and the GM computer threw a few quirks at me that I had to resolve. The biggest issue was that on the LT1, if you order white you had to get the bright chrome package. The $295 doesn't kill me but I really prefer the satin. Just now I was on the Chevy website and it allowed me to configure the car in white without giving me the error message that the bright chrome option was required. Does anybody know if there has been a change? The Cobalt I bought, just to have some wheels, is nice but it ain't no hhr!

I would check with your friend at the dealership. I'm sure he'll be able to find out for sure. I hear where you're coming from...I looked at Cobalts at John Elway Autonation when I was there looking at the HHR's the day I bought mine. Yes...they are very nice...but I had my heart set on the HHR.

I would have probably bought my HHR there too, being affiliated and all with John Elway....but all they had was 12 automatics and no manual shift, which is what I really wanted. They offered to do a dealer trade for me and bring in what I wanted in a few days, but I had my heart set on buying what I wanted that day.

It states in the book you get on the hhr that you must have the bright chrome appearance package to get white it is required. I don't think there is a way to get around it.

deb, I would but he wasn't in. btw, I have the 5 speed in the Cobalt and am astonished at how smooth it shifts compared to the old Cavalier manual shifters. I assume the HHR is smooth too? If you go to gmpowertrain.com and look up the specs on the 2 trannys they put in the hhr (getrag 23 vs 4t45 auto) you see that the automatic is about 85 pounds heavier. And that's all weight directly over the front axle. I think that might be what makes my Cobalt so slick in the turns. When I first started looking at hhr's I just assumed I would get an auto, but I am starting to think the 5 speed might be the way to go. Crimeny, by the time I get "white" and the new wheels figured out, I'll probably be agonizing over which transmission to get! I might not have an hhr til '08 comes out!

I'd be happy to bring my 5 spd by and let you take it for a spin. It would give you the opportunity to see how they drive and also let you feel and hear the CGS/IMCO combo.

BTW...did you get the PM I sent you the other day?

hehe. I answered it about 3 micro seconds before you posted. I invited you by. But, just to look. I would be so anal about letting anybody drive MY hhr, I wouldn't dare drive someone elses!

Too funny...just answered your PM. I wouldn't let just anyone drive my HHR. Just special friends.
