Can The Temp Indicator Go Any Lower?

The air temperature ranged from -29F to -41F early this morning. When I started the HHR, the outside temp display went to -22F and would not go any lower. Now that it is warmer (-15F), the display matches other thermometers.
Has anyone seen their indicator fall below -22F?

The service manual states the ambient temperature sensor has a range of -40°F to +140°F. But the air sensor resistance table states the lowest is -30°F. So it's either -30° or -40°.

HOLY CRAP!!!! I don't think I've ever seen -22 degrees....PERIOD!!!

I thought our expected weekend temps, where I live, of -5 degrees were considered cold

I had the same issue here in Moorhead the other night too. When I got off work the temp was -27, but the DIC would not go below -22. Maybe it just gives up?

That would be a good replacement for "ice possible"

Yeah if someone could hack the BCM we could have it say all sorts of things....Friggin' Cold...Forget It Buddy...Go Back Inside...Have Some Coffee...Are You Nuts?...Why Me?...I Have A Headache.....the possibilities would be endless.

I freaked out the first time I saw "ICE MAY FORM" on the DIC. I was up in Maine in December of '06, as it doesn't get below 32 very frequently in my part of Florida. I did figure out to work the heater.. a learning experience.

It hit about -10 here a little over a week ago, and all I have to say is "DANG!!"

But seriously - does it really matter if the DIC drops below -22 ? That kind of cold is not fit for human existence.
