Can you help me identify this part?

Hey everyone, I've had my HHR SS for about two weeks now, and I have something that's been bothering me a little. When I was cleaning out the inside after purchase, I found a part under the front seat that looks like it should be attached somewhere. My problem is, I have no idea where it's supposed to go. Can anyone tell me what this does?

It has DELPHI ABS+PC stamped on the part, so I'm assuming it's a factory part. If you can help me figure this out, I'd be eternally grateful. Thanks!

Can you upload it to the website so I can view it? (work computer doesn't allow pictures from Photo hosting sites).

Thank you. That looks like something from the seat rail.

Do the two pieces slide within each other? Looks like something that would go on top of the seat rail to keep debris out.

That could very well be the case. There was a new windshield installed right before I bought it. I'll have to check out if there's any way to make it fit. Thanks again everyone!

Yep come to think about it that's when I learned what that was too....they didn't replace it when my windshield was replaced.

I know this is an old thread but I just noticed this part that covers the wires from my rear view mirror moves around. It moves up and down and side to side. Is it supposed to? Now that I've noticed it moves, it really bothers me. I feel like it should snap in or something.

Yes it should snap into the mirror. If you windshield or mirror have been replaced or removed it may not be installed correctly.
