Question Car Alarm Problem

My 06 LT's car alarm is no longer able to recieve signals from either of my two key remotes. I have tried switching the batteries on both with no luck at all. I thought it had to be the batteries because the problem got progressively worse over a few days and now its just stopped working all together.

My warranty is expired, so if I can't get it fixed cheaply, can anyone at least tell me how to get the horn to stop going off every time I open my unlock and open my door?

If they are out of sync you can try and hold both the lock and unlock on the fob at the same time for about 30 seconds. It might re-sync.

Dealers have a tool that they can lay the fob on top of and press each button to see if it is sending a signal out. I check fobs for free all the time. If they wont check it then a technician will have to diagnose the problem.

ChevyMgr,
Is there any chance it could be something simple like a fuse? There are not any chevy dealerships nearby that have not given me grief in the past, so I'd like to avoid going to one at all if possible. Thanks

Does this sync both fobs or the fob to the HHR?

Half the time my key will not lock/unlock. I have to use the key to unlock the door and that sets off the alarm. Going to have the dealer check on this when I get my oil changed this week.

I just wonder if this might be your problem also; see this thread https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/2006-stick-shift-key-fob-remote-entry-problem-28430/
