Car Insurance cost ?

I haven't seen this discussed yet, except for a comment in another thread.

When I traded my Aveo on my HHR, my insurance dropped $300.00 a year (Allstate). I'm interested in seeing how others' insurance costs changed with their HHRs.

Insurance for my HHR is way cheaper than my last car, a Chrysler Crossfire. Here is a thread that discusses rates: Car Insurance Rates

Heh, my HHR's insurance went UP about $400 a year on Allstate when I traded the Blazer, then went back down when I hollered at my agent, then went back up AGAIN when I moved to Missouri.

Got a quote from my local State Farm agent, price dropped waaay below what I was even paying on my Blazer. Allstate also didn't want to reduce my insurance when I was 25 because I'm not married, either.

Mine went up a little, but my last vehicle was a '98 S-10. It's just under $500/6mo.

Exact same as longhair, around $1000/year and it went up a bit from my '00 Jetta. We are in the 2nd highest premium area in Canada though...

Mine went up $400 for a yr, but I had a 96 Subaru before. I can't wait to get my tax bill, yes I'm in one of the states that taxes you on cars you've already paid taxes on when you purchase it, nice scam , (CT the Taxi-Tution State)

If you're in the midwest, look in to Pekin Insurance. They only write in midwestern states, part of Farmer's Group, they had the best rates I could find back when I still have the Vette and my son turned 16 and got his license. New teen driver + late model Vette on a policy = ouch, but they had better rates than any of the major companies for our situation. We had been with AIG, and prior to AIG were with Progressive.

As for the HHR it took a few hundred per year off the policy.

Any comparisons on what each of us pay should include limits of liability, coverages, and deductibles. They can vary greatly. Mine went down a little but I now get a multi-car discount. I also have to pay a 1% fee to rebuild the hurricane reserves.

Florida is projected to change from a no-fault state back to regular coverage in Nov unless our legislators do something drastic. That could save about $300 a year.
