What the hell happenned to the retro angle or the gangster angle?

The thread seems to be leaning more towards disgust than amusement but I thought a poll might be appropriate...
Am I over-reacting here?
I added your poll to this thread. As one of the relationships you are talking about I can tell you this commercial was not directed toward the gay community. If you would like to see some ads that do check out Subaru.
As for the poll I voted forgetaboutit. Other than the Superbowl last year and here I've never seen this commercial aired on T.V.

Thanks for that, I hope it's not rude to add a poll to someone's thread :-)

You're a good egg, I was wondering if anyone might take offense, nice to see we can still have fun. I probably come across as homophobic or a woman-hater so, hopefully one will balance out the other.

as much as you men might like to see a group of ladies tear their shirts off and wash your car at the stop light for you in the commercial... I dont think it would pass censors

I'm continually amazed that Chevy seems to forget the HHR when it comes to marketing. Are they ashamed of it or something?

You know, part of me thinks you are right here, Big Cat. I was watching tv this morning and a SoCal Chevy commercial came on about the "Presidents Day" rebates. And in that entire commercial, Silverado Trucks, Tahoe's, the Malibu-NO mention or picture of an HHR! I'm sure there are rebates of some sort and I don't think I have even see ANYTHING about the SS!

Is something wrong here?! I KNOW I see a lot more HHR's on the road here in SoCal. I'm wondering if they are just letting them sell by word-of-mouth or that folks see them on the road and say, "What is that?!" and go check them out (this is what I did in 2005 when I first saw one).

Not a bad idea I guess to let it grow on its own coolness merits, but it is frustrating that after 3 years, I still have to explain that my car is NOT a PT cruiser

And it is pretty sad the only time I see an HHR in a commercial is for a "stool study"

rant over

First, why is it assumed that this is marketed to gays? And second, you need to get over it if you wouldn't buy something because it had a "girly" commercial.
