Cargo Area ... Non Slip Mats ????

Looking at a 2011 1 LT with carpeted floor and rear cargo mat.

What the best solution to cover the whole flat area with the seat down to make it non slip and slideable and protect the material on the floor and back of the seats ???

Did Chevrolet mis-calculate the need for such a product on this vehicle or ???

Should'nt the covering stay in place so you can slide things over it.

The HHR Panels came with 2 piece mats.

I sold my oem mats in favor of a Ford/Harley edition p/up truck bed mat.
Got off ebay, nothing slides on it al all......

You might consider rubber-backed carpet cut to fit also. Would save you some bucks.
The Panel rubber mats (2 piece) did ok. But on carpet they may slip, IDK ?

Just fyi..

3M makes some great non skid products with self stick backing that might work in some way to stabilize the mats.
Comes in rolls 1" .. 4" .. 6" .. 12" wide in Black or Gray, and 2 different Skid textures. Can easily be sissor cut to custom shape.
I was thinking of possibly taking out the factory Rear Cargo mat which just sits loose in the back, and putting some nonskid strips down on the rear cargo floor and the back of the seats.
Then try either the 2 piece panel mats on top to see if that reduces the slipping, or like you say Custom cut some nice color matched short pile nylon or berber carpet with a good non skid backing. What ever .. It should be a relaxed mat material, not something that doesn't lay flat.
I got a Buddy who is a super carpet layer for an assistant if I need it.
One thing I don't want is something Tacky Looking.

Just thinking outloud .......

I got an industrial carpet, like those used in store entryways during the winter. They are rubber backed and a very short nap carpet. I cut to fit one piece. (my wagon always has the back seats down, so it's like a panel) If I have anything that might slip and slide or is really dirty I just flip it rubber side up....

I also have an aftermarket cargo bar with net for small stuff, that is usually in place but easily removed for big items.

Pic in my gallery.

Dear Silverfox,

You can research what there is to offer on the GM Accessories Zone site. They could offer what you are looking for. If this site doesn't have what you are looking for, you can also talk with the parts department to see what they suggest. Your salesman might have some ideas for you too.
