The Cause Of My Leaking Sunroof

So today we had a few showers of rain move through and when I left work I right away noticed a wet spot on the driver side floor. This did not surprise me considering the many threads I have read on here about the sunroof issues many have had. I have only owned my 06 HHR for a couple months so this is the first time I have noticed a leak. Anyway, I read about running weed-eater line through the drain line to maybe clear the line out..as I did this it went in about 1 and 1/2 feet an it just stopped...almost stopping right at the dash. When I popped the panel off the side of the dash I right away saw what my problem was. Durring assembly of the car the drain line was smashed between two metal brackets behind the dash. I am wondering if I take it to the dealer if they will fix it "out of warranty" for FREE because this was clearly done durring assembly of the car? I don't currently have the tools to get the bolt loose.

Not sure if any others have discovered this but it could also be your problem....when I checked the passenger side drain line it was fine.

Think a Chevy dealer will fix this for me with no pay?

But it might have been repaired in its life before you. I would look for other clues...

My thoughts as well.

Did you get a carfax report when you bought it?

I did get a carfax when I bough it and it came back fine...one owner no major issues. I can't believe though the previous owner never had an issue with it...or they just ignored it?

See if this bad picture comes up, hard to get the camera to show it.

This is the end of the dash on the driver side with that small panel removed.

Of course the dealership instantly throws out your out of warranty...uh yeah I was the one that informed you of that...then they go into the your car has been wrecked story...(anything to get out of it you know)...bring it by and we can look at it but chances are we will not cover it. So there is your AMERICAN made customer service for you...I knew I should have stayed with Honda.
