Some GM dealers do help. My Dads car was out and the computer fail. They fudged the mileage with GM and put a new computer in under warranty even with it out of warranty.

Not all dealers are equal.

Hondas break too [my buddy make a good living fixing them] and once out of warranty they are seldom covered too.

Just strange that it went this long and never was a problem till now?

 

Do GM sunroof drain hoses still clog up the way they used to? I was thinking of RTV'ing a brass faucet screen over the drain holes to keep debris from going down the tube.

 

Not a bad idea, I get pine needles in between my sunroof all the time, and the screen would prevent them from getting in the tubes and clogging them. You would just have to remember to clean the screens periodically.

 

in an older post someone stated/asked that if the seal on the sunroof is working then there would be not as much use for the drains. my floorboard stays damp , drivers side. there is alot of wind noise around my sunroof. i believe my seal has a problem. as well as the drain.

 

Ok, so I have a quick (dumb) question.... How do you clean the drain tubes out? Mine doesn't leak (yet), but I just wanted to try and clean them out since it probably hasn't been done before. Should I use an air hose? Pour water? Or what? I really have no clue.

use weed whacker wire. thread it in there until you see it come out of the door jam.

I did pour a bottle of water down the tubes (only the front, because the car was leaning forward, so I couldn't get or see the backs), and all of the water did come out of the tube drain thingy...so hopefully I should be fine. I'll still try cleaning them out anyways.

I saw somewhere that someone mentioned pouring a weed eater down the tubes... has anyone done that? Or is that bad to do?

 

like a pesticide? might keep things from growing in there. dunno if it is good or bad tho
