Center console

The module that controls the airbags lives right under the cup holders, gotta be careful working around that. The rest of that area is pretty much eaten up with the parking brake ratchet and some wiring, also the center hump kinda rises up there too. Not much room for additions it looks like to me.

Two places popped into my head, the first is the dash top storage cubbyhole, you could fab up a switch panel that would sit in there...yet you could keep the lid so prying eyes couldn't see. Or you could lose that little bin like thing in front of the gearshift just under the window switches, there is enough room behind the waterfall for additional wiring. I think that several here have converted the dash top cubbyhole into a permanent power point/I-pod docking area. Just a couple of ideas I had.

Yup, you're right, forgot you had a stick shift. Its a cable shifter so I'm not sure just what would be running right under that liner gadget besides the shifter cables. The shop manual isn't too clear on that area with a stick shift. One other place is an overhead console like Putter did to his HHR, a good bit of work with dropping the headliner and all that. A custom console with all the official emergency vehicle switchgear would look totally cool though.

Probably not too hard at all once you remove the waterfall trim piece and the side access panel that covers the fuse panel on the right side of the center console. I'd think that fishing wires through there would be relatively easy, maybe even easier if you pull the radio head unit out temporarily.

That might be a bit tall of an order.. IF I wanted to do this myself, that would be very tough. I already have two wires to fish, and I am getting a roof mount light bar in the near future, whether it's permanent mount, or mag mount, I haven't yet decided.
